Bruce Elbert is the founder and president of Application Technology Strategy, L.L.C., where he consults to major private and public sector providers and users of satellite communications. He has over 40 years of experience in information technology, wireless and satellite communications. He is adjunct professor (retired) at the University of Wisconsin, College of Engineering, and an instructor at the UCLA Extension.
Mr. Elbert held senior positions with Hughes Electronics (now divisions of Boeing, AT&T and Intelsat) and was a radio officer in the US Army. He has authored eight books on telecommunications, satellite and network technology and business management, including The Satellite Communication Ground Segment and Earth Station Handbook (second edition, 2014), Introduction to Satellite Communication (third edition, 2004) and Radio Frequency Interference in Communications Systems (2016).
He holds an MBA degree from Pepperdine University, an MS degree in communications engineering and computer science from the University of Maryland and a BSEE from CCNY.
