Mohamed El-Moghazi

Studies Director, National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt

Dr. El-Moghazi is a recent PhD graduate student of the University of Strathclyde and the spectrum management research and studies director at the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt. At present, he is responsible of spectrum planning and pricing for new and current services.

Throughout his career at NTRA, he has been involved in many activities in NTRA including national broadband plan, digital switchover plan, 3G, WIMAX, spectrum pricing for VHF, UHF, MW, Satellite services. Most importantly, he has been recently part of the team responsible of the successful 4G licenses awarding process in Egypt that was concluded in October 2016.

Dr. El-Moghazi has published several papers in prestigious conferences and journals including TPRC, ITS, CPR, DySPAN, Info, Telecom Policy and Intermedia. His research focuses on international spectrum management regime, spectrum pricing, spectrum re-farming, opportunistic access, CRS, TVWS, spectrum commons, spectrum trading, ITU-R, and the developing countries.
